Halloween shoppers start preparing at the beginning of October as searches for costumes and candy begin, with searches increasing right up until Halloween day.
Halloween décor sees minimal searches throughout the Halloween season, with a slight increase 2 to 3 weeks before the holiday.
While some of the late August sales can be attributed to back to school shopping, this early spike in YoY sales growth also reflects the start of Halloween costume and décor shopping.
In the week leading up to Halloween, a second, more significant growth can be seen across both in-store and online channels across all three major Halloween categories.
